Re: Current state of MoM IME

Then he should completely hand it over to one person willing to be a project manager. I mean, if he's dropping it for one or two years, that's logical. Someone else could get it done in that time. He'll have his own copy and current status of his work, and when he comes back, if he isn't satisfied w...

Re: New Version tests

I think I remember someone posting on the forum from 2 years ago with the hammerhand nickname. Several things seem vaguely familiar... software engineer, older fellow, its been too long. I'll keep my thoughts to myself, as they're probably misremembered. But yes I agree, the tone is uncalled for. SQ...

Re: Those blasted paladins

I would be interested in seeing your version, Aureus, and giving feedback - maybe even playing it while we're waiting for Implode to finish his own highly anticipated version. :D

Re: 0.9.5 the Overland AI . I wanna help.

This might be considered an AI 'cheat', but one way you could prevent the AI from building ships on lakes, is to write some sort of code along the lines 'may only build ship(s) if there is a second city adjacent to this body of water' (anywhere). The other option could be 'may only build ship(s) if ...

Waves of attack

I don't know code, so this is just tossing out ideas in a hit or miss... But as far as making a computer allied attack more effective, maybe there'd be a way to integrate 'waves' of coordinated attacks, where there'd be a 'buildup' of x units within y squares of the target city (possibly lurking in ...

Back on alliances and allied victories, if you're totally allied to a player, what about things like whether you gain any benefit from overland spells they've cast (e.g. Crusade), or whether you can load your units into their transports (and what if you then declare war on them)? Or enter an ally's...

You start inserting multiple human players into the mix, and you will start getting diplomacy, exchanging spells, etc. I know that the original MOM doesn't have a good diplomacy AI, but that doesn't mean that diplomacy isn't used in warfare. Its called the temporary-allegiance-so-we-can-bash-that-ot...

MOO and MOO2 are great games. I still break them out and play them every once in a while. They made MOO3 too complicated (and when it came out I no longer had endless summers of free time) but it did amaze me, all the same. I think Civilization, Master of Orion, and Master of Magic are my top favori...

Version 9.1

Version 9.1 Adding on the list of to-do. I double checked it against your list of to-do, and didn't see them listed. None major, no bugs spotted (yet). Buildings queues - when selecting what to build, add unit cost to text description (you might be waiting on this until you incorporate reduction cos...

I seem to remember hearing about that error from another place, a long time ago - Civilization's customized maps. If you were right at the "boundary' of the map, as far as the computer is concerned (I know we can walk around it like a loop, but its still a flat square grid as far as a computer'...
