that does sound cool - maybe an option to change the chances for certain random rewards? could probably make some new artifacts to add to the rewards table without too much trouble...even new heroes, though I imagine those would be more of a pain and deviating farther from the original MoM that said...

hmm...

Isn't it possible to get a - well, not infinite, but extremely high score, simply by gaining more fame per turn than you lose by taking the turn itself? you lose what, 2 points a turn? and one fame is worth two points? an average one fame a turn isn't hard to come by once you establish a power base ...

I've only seen one version, I came a bit late onto the scene. Although...there will eventually be room for...how many players were you planning on? 14 people and a handful of CPUs? So invariably somebody is going to have a color similar to someone else's *shrugs*

on colors

speaking of colors, I noticed that in the last version (8.8?) that most of the player colors were shades of brown or tan or beige....maybe that's just the random colors they were given in the games I played with, but it made distinguishing between them annoying *shrugs* nothing that actually impedes...

yeah...sidetracking you from the core points of MoM IME wasn't my intention when I mentioned bugs! hmm

After checking in the game, I realized that evil omen (and maybe other death magic curses?) say they have no effect if the person you cast it on can use death magic. But, it seems to let you cast the spell anyway, and it still shows up in the city description - perhaps that's why there was no icon. ...

I haven't been playing MoM as much or as long as most posters here, and just recently started delving into impossible mode - and getting utterly crushed. I've tried aggrressive races to expand quickly (either by conquering or my own settlers or a combination) and I've tried more defensive strategies...
