thought it hovered over the buildings? I read some mentions about that in the FAQ too after I posted my question. The city I tried casting it on didn't have any shrines, etc. so that would explain it. I'm just going to make the demon head appear once in the corner... it'd be a lot of faffing about ...

I've fixed this in 0.8.9, although that won't be available for at least another month. It now stores all path-related settings in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE so they work for all users, and user-specific settings such as the name last used and chosen language under HKEY_CURRENT_USER. First bunch of screenshots are up.

Seeing the proper city enchantment animations like when casting Dark Rituals is very cool :) It felt like something was really missing without these!

Yeah, I had a few problems with the french XML file, but only what I was expecting. e.g. the retort names have accents in them, and they're used as the title of various help text pages, so that font didn't include accents so crashed (you probably tried running it yourself and found that too)... and ...
