Re: A quick primer on how to balance a game and how this applies

Good analysis. I'd only add that I think Chaos has some amazing and world-changing (for the worse) global enchantments. Meteor Storm alone can make sure no stack without a healer or regeneration can venture outside of towns for long, killing engineers, ships (gradually), and annihilating swarms of A...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

There's that clarity again. I'm forced to agree - barring some kind of small revamp those two skills complicate things on a logical level. I might come up with an ability that gives a similar effect that makes sense for Ogres...but really, ogres are really big and strong. That's probably enough to d...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

Although we do have some slave races - races that don't offer much of a reason to pick them as a starter - and depending on the buildings Ogres get to build they could certainly go that way - it's not really my intention to make races that people can't find a use for. Ogres will make good support ci...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

there is also the issue of what kind of byzantine coding it would take to create a hero who teleports primarily through "vines". I guess it would sort of be one of those "can teleport on all green spaces" kind of heroes. I was just thinking I'd give them teleport. That's ...

Re: Current state of MoM IME

lol, very dramatic, Darkpriest. Relax. He's in Canada. That means he's got access to some degree of healthcare :D It's not in our hands. In truth, if there was a way to do it that a) would be practical and b) Implode felt good about which allowed others to help to move the project forward, I'd suppo...

Re: A quick primer on how to balance a game and how this applies

Good post Elliot. The short of it is that I agree with your overall assessment. The long of it is that I wrote a long post a couple of days ago, hoping to tie it together thematically or something. Eh. I'll post it anyway – it's not like we're awash in posts here. I think the best way to balance M...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

hah...the thought occurred to me. Though, perhaps he has many names, only a few of which are pronounceable by our tongues ;) That sparked me to look up a bit of Tolkien, as he's got a wealth of names, some quite cool. I came across a character named Old Man Willow (similar character, it sounds like)...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

Hello everyone. Hello Post-bot. I thought I'd post my latest work here. It's nothing massive, but it is new content all the same, not to mention 2 new types of content. These are almost big enough that you don't have to download them to get a decent look. Almost ;) First, we have five buildings . No...

Re: Fallout 3

and unlike every single Bethesda release I can remember, this one isn't a simplification of their previous entry. it'd be hard to simplify oblivion :D Fair enough - I started in January rather than November. And as for Oblivion being made simpler? lol...well there's always a way. Morrowind had, for...

Re: MoM IME Expanded

Hey Elliott, I'd love to see Dravnon as a kobold hero or wizard. If you intend to make a hero at some point, graphics and all, I can send you my war dogs and sorcerers, and you can try to put one on top of the other, give him a flag, and recolor the cloak. Or maybe he should fly a wyvern...or...we c...

Re: Fallout 3

I was hesitant about Fallout 3 mainly because of Oblivion, but it and I will have to get married if I keep playing it this much. I've been playing it for weeks. I played through it, modded it, and I'm on my 5th playthrough. It's not quite as hardcore as previous fallouts in ways that no modern game ...

There was a Master of Magic for playstation in Japan? Coolness.

I hope you get extra character support, as you seem willing to translate.

Re: MoM IME Expanded

But whether that happens or not, a user-friendly program for race/building/addon management should be doable. It's heartening to see someone else say this. Alright, warlords and warlocks, I present to you my entry for MoM IME Expanded's sixth race, the Kobolds, 8 units comprising units 42-49. You c...

Re: Please Help. Cannot Run Client.

Hey alexander, An olde-school quirk of this game is that it's under Games in the start menu, with all of the rest of the game-like programs that come with Windows, like solitaire and mine-sweeper lol. Go to that, and you'll see the option to set the location of master of magic (you'll browse to the ...

Re: Current state of MoM IME

Thanks for the update, and for the straight assessment - MMOs are a unique breed, and I just activated a Warhammer Online account to play with my brother. In any case, I'm still making graphics here and there until I hear otherwise. It's fun, regardless. I hope to show off some kobolds this weekend.
