You might want to update from Windows 98 to something a little less obsolete, just a suggestion :)

bahhh...bad quote ;)

i think, worldwide still 50million guys are using win9x based systems...
if fully patched a very stable system with very small footprint.

it has a still vivid community... with several projects which extending functionality
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=91

like: servicepack 2.1, 137GB Hdd support, usb2 support, kernelfunctionality extension....

so, i would vote for looking the remake also compatible with win9x...
(should be easy)

ps: look for directx 9.0c redistributable, last with win98/win98se/winME support was august or september 2006
http://www.filewatcher.com/m/directx_au ... 4.0.0.html
pps: thanks implode you are right, win95 last directx was before directx9.0 (directx8.0?)

It should work with Win 98 - I think he's only getting problems because he has a weird memory setup (EMM386 etc).

It won't work with Win95 because you can't install DirectX 9 on Win95.

Implode.
