Speaking of new games that aren't MoMIME

I'm dabbling in Vanguard at the moment in my spare snatches of free time. Well - that, and fervently waiting for that mythical Dawn of War: Dark Crusade balance patch that's been about 6 months in coming and still isn't out.....

Yeah, I love both games, or at least - I love the potential they have, but there are painful bugs and balance issues that really detract from them - Although Dawn of war is still fun to play with friends, just not competitively (and the replays are worth watching by themselves just for cinematic entertainment value, grab some popcorn!)

What's everyone else up to for amusement in terms of games?

I used to be playing Children of the Nile but now I am just into Europa Universalis, it has to be the Game most like a history lesson, there are some Thousands of Provinces and all countries and cultures,no matter how small and the game takes a global scale, you should check it out

I just picked up the new command & conquer - it's got much of the flavor and cool cutscene feel of the original, but also the pitfalls of the original; poor unit control, completely imbalanced factions, etc - great fun for single player though!

Aside from strategy games....I'm a sucker for good coop to pit my friends against as a coordinated team. I'm looking forward to left4dead so VERY much for when I'm feeling in the mood for something more team based and action oriented.

Yeah, that was my impression just from playing the free demo, so I never bought it. I find the unit controls in C&C Generals very slick and easy to use, and trying to play C&C 3 after this felt really clunky.

Checked store shelves again today and still nothing that even remotely peaks my interest. Games just seem to have gone completely down the pan these days!

I was a big time Trade Wars 2002 player as a kid, so now that I'm older and craving a similar experience, I play Eve Online. Trade Wars, with graphics, and a crapload more people. Seriously, the game is amazing, as is CCP, the company running it. Check it out everyone.
