That's definitely not the style of the original MoM. Still an interesting approach, and it increases the usefulness of scouting as an ability. I can see why you'd be concerned about sending too much information to the client. This also brings up concern for how the edges of tiles themselves are blen...

Re: Bug in Building List
I don't know if it was already reported, but it seems that I stumbled upon a bug that prevents me from building a sawmill. I've played with both humans and trolls, and as I recall, these two races actually can construct that building. I could be wrong... Sawmills require that the city be within 2 s...

Java has it's problems. Poor support for graphics is one of them. AFAIK there are OpenGL classes for Java and a Java Quake implementation using these classes. This should be enough graphics support for a MoM client. Personally I also like C# more than Java, because I also come from Delphi and C# ha...

Java has it's problems. Poor support for graphics is one of them. If you want support for existing graphics code with an eclipselike IDE and a java-like language, I couldn't recomend anything more than C# and Sharpdevelop. Getting functional managed directX code into play(assuming you have a backgro...

The irony of chaos magic is that it works best when you play an excedingly defensive game, where you try to keep a large ammount of mana crystals around, get big cities, and use your combat spells as a strong first strike in defensive combat to take out your enemy's ranged/ability-heavy unit. This a...

OMG, all these years people have being trying to make a MOM 2, and they never succeeded, the closest was AOW (too few spells and unimportant wizard abilities) and Dominions (no tactical combat), but you have probably come as close as anyone.... I have this nagging fear that this one will die in the...

No, what you say is true for cities only. Lairs taken out by someone else dont disappear until you send someone there to actually see it. stop lying to the man. One can see terrain changes immediatly. It even plays the raise volcano and corruption animations on squares you can't see. Other alterati...
