Does anyone use standard bowmen?

I recall them being surprisingly good against Basilisks and invading Nature nodes early on.

I use them as town protection. With enough bowmen, they're definitely useful in every fight against anything that doesn't have MI simply for the fact they're a ranged unit.

I use the standart bowmen. Espeshaly against sorsery- chaos magic. Becouse i sure the computer AI try to kill him first. To kill standart bowmen AI must spend around 25 mana(* mana penalty). i.e "mana drain"
